Selecting The Best Diamond Blade For The Job
So how do you choose the best cutting disc?
First consider if the diamond blade is to be used on a regular, occasional or rare basis, and how long you want the product to last. Regular use and long life will mean you should ideally be choosing a professional product. Regular use with medium to high life will mean you need a Contract product. Occasional use with long life will mean you need a contract or trade product and for occasional use with a medium life you should select an economy range product.
You must then decide the materials you will be cutting. You must choose a suitable blade for its purpose. For instance if you need a product for regular use and long life that will be used for general purpose masonry products, you will need to look on the application guide and find the best description of the application or products you intend to cut.
When you have found the application or product description follow across to the right. When you have found a yellow block under the quality and product type you have selected, this is the correct blade for your job. If you intend to use the product on more than one application, then you may find a blade that has a yellow block against either applications or products. If not then a grey block means that you may use the blade on this application or product on an occasional basis so please consider at this stage what the product will be used mostly on.
Despite other manufacturers' claims, if you want a blade that will cut both granite and asphalt then you will need a very special multi purpose blade. Edge recommend the MM50 professional multi materials blade. |
